DAY 2!

Hello everybody!!

Notice the difference a night of sleep and shower can do for our appearance between today and yesterday's selfie.

After our extremely long plane flight and walking around yesterday, we were both extremely exhausted  and fell asleep at 6pm and did not wake again until 6am!! A full 12 hours of soundless sleep was definitely needed and WOW-Y let me tell you, I feel great! We both then proceeded to lay in bed for a another hour and catch up on the news. There is literally very little important news going on here, but we might as well stay updated. We then got ready and headed off to Darling Harbour, which was only about a 10 minute walk from our hotel.  At the beginning it is almost like a little park with grass in the middle for lounging and a water area and jungle-jim for little kids, which was packed! On the side there were little restaurants and cafes. We stopped at an adorable cafe and had a relaxing breakfast. We both ordered latte's that had the fancy decorative foam on top, along with a little chocolate in the shape of a starfish.

I then ordered a fruit bowl that was so delicious and refreshing.

Molly ordered a smoked salmon sandwich that looked divine. As she proceeded to tell me, smoked salmon is her "thang".

After breakfast we headed further down way to the actual harbour, where we saw the most adorable and breathtaking view. We sat in the sun for a little while there and just took in the whole thing (we also tried blogging for the first time as you will see in a little bit). On each side of the water there are restaurants, all of which you can sit outside and take in the beautiful scenery. We made our way down one of the sides in our quest to find the Sydney SeaLife Aquarium, which we found at the end. After waiting in line for an hour to get tickets we finally entered the aquarium and it was AH-MAZING! We saw so many sea creatures that I physically could not take pictures of everything, but thankfully Molly and her trusty GoPro captured everything.  Here's a little video she put together for all of you!

After the 2 hour aquarium venture, we were starving and decided to stop by the Helm Bar which served typical ocean/pier cuisine and a variety of cocktails. We both decided to have some fish n' chips and shared a "carafe" of sangria, which was divine!

Once our lunch was finished, we walked around and ended back up at the grassy area near where we had breakfast. We then sat in the sun and people-watched and chatted for 3 hours. Yup, THREE HOURS.  We finished the day off back at the hotel and are now watching the Top 1000 Songs of All Time. We aren't totally sure what we are doing tomorrow, but I think we are meeting up with our friend Megan from our sorority who moved out here with her boyfriend after graduation. Hasta MaƱana!

    1. Hey dad!

we haven't really met many Australians, we figure we will once were out of the tourist area and at a university outside Melbourne. A lot of tourists seem to be european or from other parts of Australia on summer vacation. There are also a ton of asians, a lot of which we are pretty sure live here. But we were on a bus today with two women from Texas!

The aquarium was cool but I don't think there were too many unusual animals but they had a ton of shark eggs, which I don't think I've seen before.
